Two Summer Camps You may not know about

one in CT & one in RI

June 24, 2021

Are your kids ready for a camp with endless activity options? This camp is perfect for the kid who loves sports one day, crafts the next and having a TON of fun!

Camp Stonewall is a co-ed sleepaway camp nestled on the Marianapolis Prep School campus in Connecticut. They offer 45+ daily activities in athletics, drama, music, dance, and visual arts. Their community values promote independence, flexibility, and character among all of their campers and staff. Camp Stonewall serves kids entering grades 2-10.

Here's what makes Camp Stonewall one of a kind:

  • Stonewall attracts campers and staff from the United States and from around the globe. This diverse community experience empowers every camper to learn more about their world - from right here at camp.
  • When it comes to activities, it's totally up to the kids! Each camper chooses what he or she wants to do every day. Whether it's kayaking, friendship bracelets, improv, hip hop, baseball, or gymnastics, campers at Camp Stonewall get to try it all.
  • In the evenings, the whole camp comes together for unforgettable special events and activities. Stonewall staff encourages each child to try new things in the spirit of creativity and healthy competition.
  • Campers are grouped in bunks by grade and gender and live right down the hall from their counselors. Camp Stonewall believes that this comfortable, nurturing environment allows kids to adapt quickly to being away from home so they can take full advantage of the freedom and responsibilities fostered at sleepaway camp.

As you can see, there is PLENTY of fun to be had at Camp Stonewall. There is something for every kind of kid here!

(there are covid regulations that you may be able to fight, as they do not permit privacy of your medical decisions.)

Nature of Education is a home school cooperative design for small group sizes. The fun takes place is southern RI.

A Hybrid of Waldorf and Montessori teaching styles with a focus on nature based play. A true place of fun and created by Aimee Gardiner, your local parent advocate in Rhode Island. Also publisher of Macaroni Kid in the Washington County area.

Website still has some kinks to be worked out but you can see the vision and the blog post of summer options. Nature of Education is for parents who want a true sense of comfort and freedom. This is not a "camp" by definition. You can see the fun and wonder via the site and Telegram @NatureofEducation. You can do instant chat via the website to ask questions and have your child participate.
