You're invited to the PARTY PARADE!
That's right, South Kingstown is turning 300,
and all are welcome to the parade and picnic to follow!
Saturday, June 17, 2023, 10am
This parade will be one for the record books! With marching units such as Providence Mounted Police, The 88th Army Marching Band, The US Marines and the Munroe Dairy Milkman Band/Truck, you surely will remember this special parade!
Some of the local units to be high-stepping down Main Street will be
South Kingstown Police, Fire, and EMS;
URI, who is one of the Parade sponsors-will have a float;
South County Pride Foundation, Stepping Stone Preschool, and Gansett Guard!
There will be a sea of scouting groups, local dignitaries,
and elected officials and some of South Kingstown's beloved employees.
The crowd will surely ooooh and aawwww and keep the beat
as the rat-a-tat-tat of the drums passes them by!
So get out there and cheer on those marchers!
Cheer on the big fancy floats, the antique cars, the silly clowns,
the scouting groups and little ones who have never marched before,
but will be proud to say one day that they marched in the "biggest parade ever,"
the South Kingstown 300th Anniversary Parade!
But the fun doesn't stop when the parade does!
South Kingstown invites you all to join them after the parade for a 300th Parade Picnic at
Saugatucket Park! There will be bands, bucket drummers, the famous Ladies of the Rolling Pin, food trucks, and more!
From the South Kingstown Parade page
"A festive 1.3-mile parade route through Wakefield will start at the intersection of School and Holley Streets, then head south on Main Street, turning right on High Street, and concluding at the Town Hall.
