PRESS RELEASE

Celebrating Native American Heritage Month, join us for the 13th Annual Native Arts Festival.

Indigenous peoples have been crafting beautiful artwork that expresses who they are as a people, a culture, and customs that have been passed down for thousands of years.

With November being Native American Heritage Month, the Narragansett Indian Tribe continue to spread their culture and artistic traditions with the people of South County.

Storytelling, singing, and a variety of arts will be showcased at the Tribe’s twelfth annual Native American Arts Festival is Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Towers, 35 Ocean Road, Narragansett.

Come support our local creative economy and begin your holiday shopping.

This free event features Native American artists and entertainers from the region, artists will be showcasing a variety of mediums, jewelry, fine art and accessories,  we will have traditional foods, storytelling, demonstrations, raffles and a silent auction.

The event isn’t just about selling it's also about raising awareness, education is a key part of the festival. Each year we bring in a cultural educator to share and engage the public with a cultural display explaining how life was years ago and how we are continuing these practices in the present day.

“This event was initially created by the Narragansett Tribe’s Economic Development  & Regulatory Commission to support the Native Art community by providing a space to share the rich and vibrant work that continues today in our region."

Come join us in acknowledgement and appreciation of the rich indigenous culture that continues today.
