Daisy's
Chicken and Ice Cream
106 Point Judith Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882
Daisy's Chicken & Ice Cream is a popular spot in Narragansett, Rhode Island, known for its laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere and comforting American food. They serve a variety of fried chicken dishes and other comfort food classics, along with a wide selection of ice cream flavors that are perfect for dessert or a treat on a hot day. It's a great stop for families or anyone looking to enjoy some casual, tasty food after a beach day or while exploring the area.
We sat down with one of the owners, Daniel Biller,
and discovered that this local eatery has a great back story, like many other favorites in town.
Daniel and partner Adam Corpus opened up their business this Summer on a main road in Narragansett. Located centrally in the beach town, Daisy's has more than just good food; it has a great story.
How did the idea of Daisy's come up?
DB - "...as a kid I had hopes and dreams to one day own a restaurant or local business. About 3 years ago when I decided to go to away to college, I immediately realized I was going to have a tough time not being home and thousands of miles away from family back in Rhode Island. It was a tough transition to Tampa, Florida. Although I was having fun, I missed my family and especially my dog Daisy."
When Daniel came up for Thanksgiving break, he noticed a lease sign in the window of the old ice cream place he once worked at. "I thought about that empty shack for months," Daniel said. He returned to college, finished his year out, and came back home. Fast forward to when Daniel pitched his idea to a lifelong friend Adam Corpus, and both agreed it was time to go into business. A year later, Daisy's Chicken and Ice Cream opened!
But why the name "Daisy?"
When Daniel went to college in Tampa, he was like most college freshmen; he missed home. "It was a tough transition to Tampa, Florida. Although I was having fun, I missed my family and especially my dog Daisy." Shortly after returning home, Daniel lost his Daisy tragically. "My whole world was flipped upside down, I felt empty and felt like I lost my happiness. Daisy was my happiness and my best friend."
Daniel and Adam focused on opening,
and a year after Daisy passed,
Daisy's Chicken and Ice Cream opened!
It’s amazing how their connection with Daisy and their dream of owning a restaurant came together to create Daisy’s Chicken and Ice Cream. Their dedication, even through tough times, really speaks to the heart of why Daisy's feels special—it’s not just about good food but about community and personal passion. It’s clear that both Daniela and Adam have poured their love for your dog, family, and cooking into this venture.
It’s a perfect spot for a no-stress, tasty, and fun family outing!
