Newport Car Museum Announces CYBERBEAST Design Challenge

Press Release from The Newport Car Museum

By Joyce Campbell, Macaroni KID Southern RI Publisher December 16, 2024

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (December 6, 2024) – The Newport Car Museum in Portsmouth, R.I. is asking fans to share their vision of a custom wrap for its newly acquired Tesla CYBERBEAST, which will be displayed outside the Museum and used for promotional purposes.

Contest rules say to “create something new or find an existing design” and send a PDF or screenshot of it to info@newportcarmuseum.org by January 15, 2025. All ages can participate, with kids encouraged to download a coloring sheet from the Museum’s website. Entries must include a name, hometown, age, and phone number. Winners will be chosen by January 31, 2025.

If the Museum chooses a submitted idea, the creator will become a life-long member of the Newport Car Museum, not to mention the VIP artist whose work will be admired by tens of thousands visiting the Museum each year.

“Currently, our CYBERBEAST is a stainless-steel canvas waiting for color,” said the Museum’s Head Docent Vincent Moretti. “Its futuristic wedge-shaped design is pretty imposing, so people tend to either love it or hate it, but certainly it’s a curiosity that now fits into the history of the automobile.” (The Newport Car Museum’s private collection covers eight decades of modern automotive design starting with the 1950s and finishing with new models from the 21st Century.)

The Newport Car Museum has announced a design challenge that will determine the look of its new Tesla CYBERBEAST.

More About the CYBERBEAST

While the Cybertruck rolls off Tesla’s production line with a 600 horsepower dual-motor system that tops out at 112 mph, the CYBERBEAST delivers 50% more acceleration g-force using an 845 horsepower tri-motor. This translates to a blistering 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds (compared to 4.1 seconds for the Cybertruck). The Tesla CYBERBEAST even comes with a BEAST Mode that pays homage to the original Ludicrous Mode used in the Tesla Model S and X platforms.
