Description
The Colonial Theater’s beloved Shakespeare in the Park festival is returning to Wilcox Park for a 30th time with their Summer 2021 production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised]” by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield.
Please bring your own chairs or blankets, and picnics are welcome as well!
This comedic survey of the Bard’s many plays will star veteran Equity actors Jeremiah Clapp, Jamie Dufault, and Richard Herron. Founding company member Marion Markham will bring her professionalism and expertise in the Shakespearean cannon to the role of Artistic Director, with production management by Aurora Productions, one of the industry’s leading full-service Production Management and Technical Supervision Company that serves Broadway, Off Broadway, and touring theater productions.
The Colonial is also pleased to debut its new Theatre Internship Program this summer, which will see highly qualified college- and high school-aged students working with industry professionals to gain invaluable hands-on experience in putting on a show with us. This exciting new program will be managed by Julia Moore, a recent Brown University graduation with an extensive background in performing arts and instruction.
This beloved local tradition is donation-funded, but admission has always been free and open to the public. Please consider making a donation to support our production by clicking here. Thank you for your generosity!
This year, we are asking attendees to reserve free tickets through EventBrite to safely and effectively manage crowd sizes, which traditionally have been largest on weekends. The Colonial is pleased to offer professional theatre in an outdoor setting and looks forward to providing an audience experience that feels close to “normal” in a post-pandemic era.
Musical performances (green shows) will preceed theater shows each night in the bandstand coordinated through The United Theatre.

Wednesday, August 11th | Ben Boisclaire
Thursday, August 12th | COW!
Friday, August 13th | Geoffrey Kaufman
