Description
This 8 hour beginner boating course (classroom only) provides basic knowledge needed to safely navigate vessels on the water and prepares the student to take the RI State Boating Exam. The state exam will be administered at the conclusion of the course. Upon passing, the instructor will submit an application to the state on behalf of the student to receive a RI Boating Safety Card (Boating License). (Students under 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled adult.)
Instructor: Michael Stach is the Harbormaster/ Natural Resource Officer for the Town of South Kingstown. He is a former State Marine Patrol Officer and recipient of the Boating Officer of the Year Award, is a nationally credentialed NASBLA Boat Operations and Training instructor holding numerous NASBLA Training Course Certificates, and was one of the State's Boat Accident Reconstruction Investigators.
